The Elma Yates Scholarship

About elma & our scholarship program

Elma Yates is Nicole, the owner and head instructors, grandmother. She was the reason Just Keep Swimming School was able to become a business and funded the opening and first few months of operation until we were able to get the business going. She was very involved in the swim school, loved hearing stories of all the kiddos and their progress and loved everything about the swim school. In February 2022, Elma passed away at the age of 96, after a beautiful life.

Before she passed, Nicole promised Elma that she would honor her and keep her in the business, by starting a scholarship program in her name. This was extremely fitting, as Elma loved helping and supporting whoever she could, whenever she could. In January 2023, the scholarship program launched and opened applications.

The Elma Yates scholarship is for those who may not typically be able to afford lessons or the swim team program. Recipients will receive the choice of 30 private 1:1 lessons or the option to participate in the swim team prep program at no cost.

Scholarship details, terms & conditions:

Recipients must choose between private 1:1 lessons or our swim team prep program. You many not choose both and may not switch to the other during your duration of your scholarship. Scholarship starts the first day scheduled and will be valid for 5 months. If for any reason during your scholarship you choose to stop, this will not stop the expiration and it may not be extended. If you accept and are not able to commit, we ask that you let us know ASAP, so we many offer to the next person and fill the position. Scholarship is valid for ages 14 months and above (this is valid for adults as well). If you are not selected, but apply, a discount may be offered on your first package or first month of swim team prep.
